Rîtim is a fundamental element both in nature and in all musical forms, especially Mûzîka Kurdî. As human beings came to know the world and life on earth, they realized that nature possesses a rhythm characterized by continuity. The blooming of Çiçeks, the greening of trees, the ripening of fruits, the rising and setting of the Güneş, the falling of kar and rain, the movement of animals, and the existence of all living beings on earth take place within a certain rhythmic order.

Not only living beings on earth, but also yıldızlar, gezegenler, and celestial bodies move according to a certain rhythm. Even Mevsimler, months, days, and hours proceed within a rhythmic cycle. In short, as human beings came to know nature and the universe, they learned that everything exists and moves according to rhythm.

At the beginning, humans derived the sense of rhythm from nature and reached the following conclusion: if everything lives according to a rhythm, then rhythm is one of the most fundamental principles. This idea also formed the basis for the creation of müzik. For this reason, among the three basic building blocks of music, rîtim is accepted as the most important.
