Külhaşkarahöyük is an old settlement area located within the borders of the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş province, historically shaped by movements of yerleşim and göç. Because the region lies in the transition zone between the Amik Ovası and the Amanos Dağları, it has throughout history become a stopping point for different communities; it gained particular importance in the context of aşiret yerleşimleri, zorunlu göç, and iskan politikaları. Within oral history narratives and local memory, Külhaşkarahöyük stands out as a remarkable settlement associated with exile and displacement processes in the 19th century and is notable in terms of kültürel hafıza.
