Pazarcık
Pazarcık is a district of Kahramanmaraş province and, because it lies in the transition zone between Doğu Anadolu and the Mediterranean regions, has throughout history been a center where movements of göç, ticaret, and yerleşim intersected. Located in the basin of the Aksu Çayı, the district opened to settlement from early periods thanks to its lands suitable for agriculture and animal husbandry; during the Ottoman period its demographic structure was shaped by iskan politikaları and aşiret yerleşimleri. Pazarcık is regarded as one of the important settlements of the region in terms of kültürel çeşitlilik and toplumsal hafıza, with its structure in which different ethnic and cultural communities live together.
